Our policies protect scholarly integrity, fair review, and responsible publication across the International Journal of Afro-Asian Philosophies.
01 · Editorial policy
Editorial decisions are made on scholarly merit, relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, clarity, and ethical integrity. Decisions are not influenced by an author’s identity, institutional affiliation, nationality, gender, religion, or political viewpoint.
Research articles are assessed through a blinded peer-review process. Editors select reviewers with appropriate expertise and manage conflicts of interest to support fair, constructive, and confidential evaluation.
Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or intellectual interests that could reasonably affect their judgement. Where a conflict exists, the journal will take appropriate steps to protect the integrity of the process.
The journal does not accept plagiarism, fabricated or falsified evidence, duplicate submission, or other forms of publication misconduct. Concerns may be investigated in line with recognised scholarly publishing standards.
02 · Publication policy
Submissions must be original, unpublished work and must not be under consideration by another journal or publisher. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material.
All listed authors must have made a meaningful scholarly contribution and approve the submitted version. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
When a published article requires correction, clarification, or retraction, the journal will issue a transparent notice linked to the original record. Retractions are reserved for serious errors or misconduct that undermine the reliability of the work.
Copyright, licensing, and access terms will be stated clearly for each published article. Authors should review the applicable agreement before publication and retain responsibility for the accuracy of their work.
03 · Author responsibilities
Provide accurate author details and declarations, prepare a fully blinded manuscript for review, cite sources carefully, and respond to editorial requests in a timely and professional manner.
Do not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals, include identifying details in blinded files, manipulate citations, or attempt to contact or influence reviewers.
